CK Line books up to four feeder boxships at Yangzijiang

South Korea’s CK Line has placed an order for up to four feeder containerships at China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.

The Seoul-based liner operator has booked two firm 1,100 teu newbuilds at around $23 per ship, with options secured for two more.

The first two units are scheduled for delivery in July and August 2027.

CK Line operates nearly 20 ships, from 700 teu to 1,900 teu range, servicing regional routes in Asia.

The move marks the company’s first newbuilding project since September 2023, when it booked two 2,700 teu ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding at $40m apiece.
