Stack collapse on Evergreen containership off Rio Grande | Container news

The Evergreen containership Ever Feat experienced a container stack collapse whilst navigating off Rio Grande, Brazil, according to a report from claims specialist WK Webster.

The vessel, en route from Navegantes, had a shift of cargo on July 28.  

The claims specialist WK Webster has received reports that 30-40 containers sustained damage, and it is currently unknown if any containers were lost overboard as a result of the incident.

WK Webster said that the vessel Ever Feat (IMO:9850898) is currently berthed at Montevideo, Uruguay “where we understand that the affected containers will be re-secured to allow the vessel to continue its voyage.”

The claims specialist WK Webster warns now that possible recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty. “We have cargo surveyors on hand to establish the extent of damage to cargo, if necessary,” it added.

The 130573-dwt vessel Ever Feat is a modern container ship (2021-built) flagged in Liberia and its registered owner is Evergreen Marine Corp (Taiwan) Ltd (EVERGREEN LINE).
