Pacific Environment announces new head of programs and new senior director for Climate Program

Pacific Environment is proud to announce the promotion of Grace Healy to Head of Programs and Teresa Bui to Senior Director, Climate Campaign.

Grace Healy joined Pacific Environment in 2021 and has most recently served as Acting Senior Director of the Climate Campaign. In the newly created Head of Programs role, Grace will oversee the organization’s four core program areas — Arctic Protection, Climate Action, Marine Conservation and Plastic Reduction — guiding strategy development and ensuring programmatic impact. She will also lead cross-departmental coordination to foster collaboration across teams.

“I’m honored to step into this new role and help steward the powerful work of our program teams,” said Grace Healy. “From Arctic protection to zero-emission maritime shipping to plastic pollution, Pacific Environment’s campaigns are tackling some of the biggest climate challenges of our time. I’m excited to help deepen our impact across the board.”

Teresa Bui joined Pacific Environment in 2021 and has served as Director of Climate Policy. In her new role as Senior Director, Climate Campaign, she will continue to lead the organization’s climate advocacy work, including decarbonizing the shipping industry and advancing the transition to zero-emission ports around the Pacific Rim.

“I’m thrilled to continue building momentum for bold climate action,” said Teresa Bui. “Our work at the intersection of environmental justice, public health and building a zero-emission economy is more urgent than ever — and I’m proud to help lead these efforts at Pacific Environment.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Grace and Teresa to our senior leadership team,” said Shannon Wright, Executive Director of Pacific Environment. “Their deep subject matter expertise, strategic leadership and unwavering commitment to inspire action for the benefit of people and our planet will help us strengthen our programs in this critical decade for the climate and global ecosystems.”

Prior to joining Pacific Environment, Grace served as Program Manager for Strategic Planning at New York City’s Division of Energy Management, where she managed workforce development programs focused on building the city’s energy-related talent pipeline. She oversaw an $11 million annual budget supporting more than 100 personnel.

Before to joining Pacific Environment, Teresa was appointed by California Governor Jerry Brown as Special Advisor to the Director of the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). There, she led the development of new recycling initiatives and improvements to existing programs to combat climate change including in implementing the state’s Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Strategy.
