Denmark’s Navigare Capital Partners has brought in a former chief executive of Christiania Ga, Andrew McPhail, as a new partner, bolstering its investment team.
McPhail is now working on business development and deal sourcing alongside partners Lars Christensen and Max Nielsen.
His remit covers opportunities across the deepsea shipping segments, the Copenhagen-based alternative investment fund manager said.
With a career that has taken him from asset ownership and shipbroking to commercial operations, McPhail brings a broad industry view. He was the top man at B-Gas where he led a full turnaround of the company to a successful exit and sale in 2023 and consequently establishment of Christiania Gas, which he has led until July this year.
Navigare said his mix of operational and strategic experience will be key to advancing the firm’s portfolio and identifying new growth areas.
Navigare was established in 2017 by Maersk chairman Robert Maersk Uggla and four well-known shipping executives.
The company currently has three funds under management with operating assets in addition to containers, including bulkers, tankers, gas carriers and offshore wind support vessels
