Norden adds to its fleet Japanese-panamax amid fresh vessel sale | Dry bulk shipping news

Denmark’s Norden, a shipping company known for its ocean-based freight services for bulk and project cargo of all sizes, is moving with fresh sales and purchases.

The company revealed yesterday that it has offloaded a supramax vessel, without disclosing the name of the buyer. Specifically, the shipowner has declared an additional supramax purchase option and subsequently sold the vessel.

No further details were disclosed about the financial terms of the transaction or the name of the ship sold.

In addition, Norden has purchased a Japanese-built panamax, which will join its fleet in September 2025.

The vessel is a 2017 built wide-beam 85,000-dwt vessel with high grain loading capacity and shallow draft, which makes it particularly well-suited for optimising cargo intake while maintaining access to ports with depth restrictions.

“This addition aligns closely with our current cargo needs and reflects Norden’s strategy of optimising our fleet to meet specific market demands to ensure we deliver efficient and reliable transport solutions to our customers worldwide,” the company said in a statement.
