Middle East Crude-Oman, Murban nudge up; Murban hits three-week high

Middle East crude benchmarks Oman and Dubai nudged upwards on Tuesday, after hitting lowest in two months in previous session, while Murban rose for a fourth consecutive session to a three-week high.

U.S. and Russian government officials discussed several energy deals on the sidelines of negotiations this month that sought to achieve peace in Ukraine, according to five sources familiar with the talks.

Canada’s main oil-producing province of Alberta is considering a financial investment in Japan’s refining sector, two sources familiar with the matter said, an attempt to reduce its overwhelming dependence on top trade partner the United States for oil exports.

India’s state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) ONGC is planning to set up a trading unit for the crude and refined fuels of its group companies, a top executive at ONGC Videsh said at an industry event.

Ukraine has stepped up drone attacks on Russian oil refineries and exporting infrastructure, striking the most important sector of President Vladimir Putin’s economy to show it can fight back as the United States seeks to broker a peace deal.
