Cafe William and Costco have invited the local media and the people to come and see the largest commercial cargo sailboat in the world.

The vessel will deliver its 2nd coffee shipment for Cafe William on October 4, 2025, berthing at the Port of Matane.

The coffee beans are coming from the ANEI cooperative in Colombia, which is an organic coffee grown at altitudes of 1200 to 1500 metres. This fairtrade certified product is known for its quality, taste and positive environmental impact.

It will be available at the Costco Rimouski during the event, which will feature free servings of the delicious coffee, hot chocolate and snacks.

One of the owners of Cafe William will also share their vision of building a sustainable coffee supply chain, from the farm to the consumers’ cups.

The journey would not be possible without TOWT or TransOceanic Wind Transport, founded in 2011.

This French sail cargo carrier has shipped over 2 million products and is aiming to scale up by constructing a first-generation of high-tech sailing cargo vessels.

Cafe William was established in 1988 and is one of the biggest importers of Fairtrade-certified coffee in Canada.

The cafe leads in sustainable practices across its operations, from sail-powered coffee transportation, eco-friendly packaging, ethical sourcing, to electric roasting of coffee beans.
