HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering To Build VLCC Duo

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai specializing in shipbuilding, announced on October 20 that it has recently signed a contract to build two VLCC with a domestic shipping company.

– The total order amount is 363.3 billion KRW.
– The two vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and is scheduled to be delivered consecutively by the second half of 2027.

– Including these orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has received orders for a total of 95 ships worth 12.76 billion USD to date, achieving 70.7% of the annual order target of 18.05 billion USD (provisional).
– By ship type, the company has received orders for 5 LNG carrier, 6 LNG bunkering vessels, 8 LPG/ammonia carriers, 2 ethane carriers, 59 container ships, 14 tankers, and 1 product carrier.
