Monjasa named official NATO bunker provider

Danish marine fuels supplier Monjasa has been awarded a contract to supply fuel to NATO forces, strengthening its position among the world’s leading bunker providers.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has selected Monjasa, following a tender launched last year. The deal covers fuel deliveries across five designated Areas of Operations.

The framework agreement, which is already in effect, ensures that NATO units have access to marine fuel supplies within the contracted regions. The contract runs for an initial one-year term, with an option for a two-year extension.

“Meeting the right quality standards is a prerequisite for winning specialised international tenders,” said Ulrik Østergaard, general manager for Northwest Europe at Monjasa, adding that the new award comes on the back of years of investments in the company’s logistics and documentation systems, aimed at “ensuring transparency and high service levels to meet the expectations of global partners.”

Under the agreement, Monjasa will supply fuel both as a reseller and through its own maritime logistics network. The company operates a fleet of 35 tankers and barges, supported by 16 international offices.

Monjasa ranked among the world’s top 10 bunker suppliers last year, delivering marine fuels at 784 ports worldwide. The NATO contract marks another milestone for the Danish firm as it continues to expand its government and defence-sector activities.
