Drewry: The World Container Index increased 4% this week 44-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued with the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 4% to $1,822 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 4% or $59 to $1,795, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also increased by 1% or $5 to $463 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 5% or $100 to $1,955, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 6% or $148 to $2,438. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 4% or $148 to $3,568 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained stable at $706 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 2% or $42 to $1,678 per FEU. The freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 1% or $10 to $846 per 40-foot container.
