Norden hires new head of dry cargo in FST business unit | Dry bulk shipping news

Denmark’s Norden, a shipping company known for its ocean-based freight services for bulk and project cargo of all sizes, has named Christian Antonsen as its new head of dry cargo in the freight services & trading (FST) business unit.

Christian Antonsen, currently global ocean freight director, chartering, at agricultural firm Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), joins Norden as new head of dry cargo.

Effective January 1, 2026, Antonsen will lead Norden’s team of 100 dry cargo employees and the company’s fleet of some 300 dry bulk vessel, ranging from projects and parcelling to capesize. 

“Christian joins NORDEN from one of our important customers and we’re excited for the insights, leadership and strategic mindset he brings to our commercial business,” said Norden chief operating officer Anne Jensen.

Jensen added: “An experienced leader from dry cargo shipping, who also embodies our values and purpose, Christian will continue our work in strengthening our customer offering and differentiating NORDEN from our competitors by leveraging data, thinking outside the box and implementing new innovative processes.”

Aside from leading the FST business unit, Christian will support Norden’s strategic direction and customer focus, collaborating across the organization with other business segments such as tankers and logistics to ensure cohesion and leveraging synergies.
