Containers turn festive as Cuboid builds world’s biggest advent calendar

For an industry more used to stacking boxes for efficiency than festivity, the UK’s Cuboid Self Storage has given shipping containers a seasonal makeover by unveiling what it claims is the world’s largest advent calendar made entirely from containers.

The firm has transformed a towering stack of boxes into a giant, countdown-to-Christmas display, with each “door” built into the face of a container, turning teus into treats. The installation, comprising dozens of units arranged in a carefully engineered formation, has drawn plenty of local attention.

Every day of Advent, the company is opening a new door and donating a container full of gifts to families and local causes that need them the most.

Laura Charlton, regional charity manager at Mission Christmas, said: “So much more than just an advent calendar, this festive campaign is a daily reminder that Christmas should be magical for every child. We genuinely believe that Cuboid has helped us to save Christmas for thousands of families across Lancashire with their incredible donation.”
