Harry Fafalios honoured with Baltic Exchange Lifetime Membership

Harry Fafalios has been awarded lifetime membership of the Baltic Exchange in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Baltic and the wider shipping industry. The accolade was presented by Baltic Chairman Guy Hindley at the Baltic’s Past Directors Lunch.

Born into a long-standing seafaring family from Chios, Fafalios served three terms at sea before pursuing his education in London and Newcastle. He has spent over 25 years with the family company, Fafalios Ltd., working as a shipbroker and engaging daily in chartering, with expertise spanning marine insurance, banking, and all aspects of shipbroking.

Fafalios also holds prominent positions across the maritime sector, serving on the Baltic Exchange Board, INTERCARGO, and American Bureau of Shipping committees. He was elected Chairman of the London-based Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee in 2010, following his father’s decades-long involvement.

The honour recognises Fafalios’ lifelong dedication to shipping, his family legacy, and his pivotal role in advancing the industry.
