Drewry: The World Container Index increased 12% this week 51-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week again continued the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 12% to $2,182 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 8% or $178 to $2,539, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 2% or $11 to $476 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 10% or $310 to $3,314, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 18% or $371 to $2,474. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 19% or $537 to $3,293 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained stable at $712 and Rotterdam to New York also remained stable at $1,642 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $17 to $959 per 40-foot container.
