Fincantieri has delivered the Multipurpose Combat Ship (MPCS/PPA) KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321 to the Indonesian Navy during a ceremony held at the company’s Muggiano shipyard in La Spezia, Italy.

The handover marks the completion of a two-vessel programme for Indonesia, following the delivery of its sister ship, KRI BRAWIJAYA-320, in July last year.

The delivery ceremony was attended by senior naval and diplomatic representatives from both countries. Among those present were Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of the Indonesian Navy, H.E. Prof. Dr. Junimart Girsang, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Italy, and Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, Chief of the Italian Navy.

Fincantieri was represented by its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Pierroberto Folgiero, along with Eugenio Santagata, General Manager of the Naval Vessels Division.

With the delivery of KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321, the Indonesian Navy has taken delivery of its largest surface combat vessels to date, which are also among the most technologically advanced in its fleet.

The two PPA vessels are expected to serve as a key capability for Indonesia, supporting maritime security and contributing to stability across the Indo-Pacific region while protecting national interests.

The MPCS/PPA design is intended to offer high operational flexibility, allowing the ship to perform a broad range of missions.

These include frontline combat operations, maritime surveillance and patrol duties, search and rescue missions, as well as civil protection tasks.

The vessel is also equipped to operate high-speed RHIBs, which can be launched and recovered using a lateral crane or a hauling ramp at the stern.

KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321 has an overall length of 143 metres and can reach speeds of more than 31 knots.

The ship accommodates a crew of 171 personnel and is fitted with a combined diesel and gas turbine propulsion system, supported by an electric propulsion arrangement, enabling efficient performance across different operational profiles.
