The Netherlands-based shipowner Hartman Seatrade has announced in its social media account that the company has signed a newbuilding contract for a heavy lift vessel: The Hartman Class 500.

The heavy lift vessel will be built by Rock Shipbuilding in Urk, Netherlands, as the company states, and this vessel is designed to push the level of capability, efficiency and sustainability.

The shipowner mentions that the Hartman Class 500 vessel will be 4600 mt deadweight, have 500-ton lifting capacity and a top speed of 19.5 knots due to an efficient four-stroke Wärtsilä 31 engine.

Furthermore, the vessel will be zero-emission sailing up to 11 knots in battery-electric mode and will also have zero-emission port operations (including crane operations) through full shore power connection.
