Subsea7 reported on February 9 that it had been tasked with the transport and installation of approximately 17 kilometers of subsea flowlines and umbilicals for Chevron in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The contract has been defined as substantial, which the company says is worth between $150 million and $300 million.

Project management and engineering will begin immediately and will be managed by Subsea7’s office in Paris, France, with offshore activities expected to start in Q1 2028.

David Bertin, Senior Vice President for Subsea7 Global Projects Centre East, said: “This award reinforces our long-term strategic partnership with Chevron, building on our proven track record in West Africa, Australia and the US. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in the Eastern Mediterranean, focusing on safety, efficiency and technical integrity to deliver reliable and integrated offshore solutions.”

At the end of 2025, Chevron awarded Subsea7 with a contract for subsea equipment and associated infrastructure for the third stage of its Gorgon gas project offshore Western Australia. These offshore operations are also expected in 2028.

As for the Mediterranean region, Chevron Mediterranean Limited (CML) and its partners NewMed Energy and Ratio Energies recently gave the green light for a planned expansion of gas export capacity from a giant natural gas field project off the coast of Israel.
