Diana rolls panamax bulker into improved SwissMarine fixture

New York-listed Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has fixed one of its panamax units on a fresh time charter, locking in a stronger rate as the ship rolls off its current employment.

The 77,525 dwt ice-class Crystalia has been chartered to SwissMarine at $16,200 per day, minus 5% commission, for a period running from mid-March 2026 until between March 10 and May 10, 2027.

The ship is presently employed by Louis Dreyfus Company Freight Asia at $13,900 per day, also minus 5% commission.

The step-up in earnings reflects a firmer panamax market and will generate about $5.78m in revenue for the minimum period of the new deal.

Built in 2014, Crystalia is one of 36 bulkers in Diana Shipping’s fleet. The latest fixture marks the company’s fifth reported period deal this year and follows an upgraded charter for the post-panamax Phaidra to Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha.
