Geneva Dry: 50 days to go

With 50 days to go, organisers of Geneva Dry, report record numbers are forecast to join the third edition of the world’s premier commodities shipping conference, based on registrations to date with more than 220 companies already onboard.

Held at the President Hotel President Wilson on the shore of Lake Geneva on April 28 and 29, organisers have worked with the hotel to extend the conference area to ensure a record 900 delegates can attend this year.

“We’ve been getting a very steady level of signups since the start of the year – including some of the biggest names in shipping – to the point whereby our special discounted room rates at the Wilson have just about been used up,” commented V Subramaniam, a director of the event.

Aware of pent-up demand, the summit’s coordinators have secured an additional 185 rooms across five nearby hotels owned by the Manotel Group. Delegates can choose between these three and four star offerings, with prices starting at CHF223 per night.

The speaker lineup for dry bulk shipping’s annual gathering is near complete with more top names set to take the stage than ever before including a record number of charterer speakers from the likes of ADM, Anglo American, Caravel, South32, Trafigura and Vale.

Organisers are also delighted to announce the creation of a bonus workshop due to take place on the morning of April 28, ahead of the official conference opening.

The Digital Dry Hard Talk specialist workshop will be on a first-come, first-served basis on the ground floor at the Hotel President Wilson. The session will aim to go beyond the sea of solutions, buzzwords, and bold promises to assess what’s actually delivering results and what’s falling short in the world of digital.

Following a welcome address by Delphine Bachmann, State Councillor in charge of the canton’s Department of Economy and Employment (DEE), the 2026 version of Geneva Dry opens with the Commodities Shipping Outlook and is followed by a risk management session then a special looking at AI, digitalisation and the dry bulk workforce, before closing out day one with the always popular hour devoted to the future of fixing.

Day two starts with a digital drivers panel – with input coming from the outcome of the workshop the day prior – before moving onto the dry decarbonisation session, at which point the conference closes out with cargo-specific panels on minor bulks, agri-commodities, coal and iron ore.
