DIS offloads at ‘very firm’ price one of two oldest tankers | Shipsale news

Italian product tanker operator d’Amico International Shipping S.A. (DIS) sealed a deal through its operating subsidiary d’Amico Tankers d.a.c. (Ireland) for the sale of the 51,678-dwt MR product tanker High Seas for a total consideration of $27.6m.

The vessel built in 2012 by Hyundai Mipo in South Korea will be delivered to its new owners before the end of May 2026.

The Milan- and OTCQX- listed company said d’Amico Tankers has agreed to sell one of the two oldest vessels in its fleet. This transaction will generate around $27m in cash upon her delivery to the buyers, net of commissions.

Currently, DIS’ fleet comprises of 29 double-hulled product tankers (MR, handysize and LR1, of which 27 are owned, and 2 bareboat chartered-in), with an average age of approximately 9.8 years.

Carlos di Mottola, chief executive officer of d’Amico International Shipping, stated: “I am pleased to announce the sale of one of the two oldest vessels of our fleet, built in 2012, at a very high price, relative to historical averages and to the broker valuation for this vessel at year-end 2025, reflecting the current very strong freight rates and the positive outlook for the product tanker market.

“Following the completion of this transaction, DIS will own only one non-eco vessel, in line with our strategy of operating a modern, fuel-efficient fleet, with the objective of enhancing both our earnings potential and our environmental footprint.”
