Elenger, Finland’s privately owned energy company by Infortar, has set the wheels in motion to get ready for the next heating season by securing five liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes this spring.

While three LNG cargoes are set to arrive at the Inkoo terminal in Finland, two are slated to come at the Klaipėda LNG terminal in Lithuania. The first cargo was scheduled to arrive last week from the United States to the port of Inkoo on the Marvel Swallow LNG tanker.

Elenger’s next delivery is planned for the second half of April to Klaipėda, Lithuania. Aside from the five LNG cargoes scheduled for the spring months, the company has planned additional deliveries for autumn.

Margus Kaasik, Chairman of Management Board of Elenger Group, commented: “We are beginning procurement for the next heating season and the filling of the underground gas storage facility in Latvia. Although the conflict in the Middle East has pushed up gas and oil prices, gas availability remains securely ensured, and all deliveries are proceeding as usual and without disruption.

“Elenger sources gas mainly from the United States and Norway, which means we are not directly dependent on Qatari LNG, the supply most affected by the current Middle East conflict. More broadly, physical gas availability in Europe remains stable, and storage filling has already begun.”

Elenger, which operates across the entire energy value chain from trading and production to delivery to end customers, serves more than 450,000 customers with natural gas of Western origin and renewable biomethane, and employs over 1,000 people.
