Drewry: The World Container Index increased 1% this week 15-2026 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week returned to the increasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 1% to $2,309 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 9% or $235 to $2,308, and Rotterdam to Shanghai decreased by 2% or $13 to $592 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 3% or $109 to $3,420, while Shanghai to Los Angeles increased by 9% or $247 to $2,910. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York increased by 7% or $237 to $3,671 per 40-foot container.

Meanwhile, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 3% or $20 to $762, and Rotterdam to New York increased by 25% or $389 to $1,968 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 6% or $62 to $1,063 per 40-foot container.
