CMA CGM and Fattal Group agree on full acquisition | Container news

Marseille-based CMA CGM Group and the shareholders of Lebanon-headquartered distribution business Fattal Group have entered into an agreement for the acquisition of 100% of Fattal Group by the CMA CGM and its affiliates.

The deal, signed between the two parties, remains subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.

Fattal Group is a regional distributor of national and international premium brands operating in the Middle East and North Africa. Founded in 1897, its headquarters are in Beirut, Lebanon.

Rodolphe Saadé, chairman and chief executive officer of CMA CGM Group, said the acquisition is a key milestone in his company’s ambition to become a global leader in end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions. He said that by integrating Fattal’s distribution platform, the group is expanding its capabilities downstream, closer to end markets and consumers.

He also said that the transaction deepens the company’s presence in fast-growing MENA markets and is a sign of continued confidence in Lebanon and a commitment to its long-term development.

Fattal Group confirmed the news with a post on social media LinkedIn.

From her side, the chairwoman of the Fattal Group Caroline Fattal, stated: “After 130 years of continued stewardship, the Fattal shareholders have made the decision to entrust the future of the Fattal Group to CMA CGM Group as they are confident that it will continue to build on the success of the Group and stay true to its mission to add value and ensure the long-term strength and success of the Group, its people, its suppliers and the communities it serves.”
