LD Armateurs to offer turnkey subsea solutions with new addition to fleet

LD TravOcean, a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LD Armateurs), has acquired the DP2 multipurpose support vessel SIDDIS Mariner, which will be renamed TVO Mariner and support the company’s operations across several sectors, including offshore wind.

The vessel is already familiar to LD TravOcean teams, having previously been used by the company during an offshore wind project in Germany, LD Armateurs said.

The 88.3-meter vessel, built in 2011 to Norwegian design standards, features a payload capacity of around 2,500 tons, a 950-square-meter working deck, advanced dynamic positioning, and accommodation for up to 70 personnel.

Scheduled for delivery in summer 2026, the vessel will sail under the French flag and be operated by an LD Armateurs crew, with subsea operations carried out by LD TravOcean.

LD TravOcean will deploy the vessel across its activity segments, including offshore wind, telecom cables, cable repair, and multipurpose offshore operations, LD Armateurs said. The company said the addition will allow it to better control project execution from mobilization to delivery, integrating its subsea assets such as trenching machines, Rovjets and ROVs.

According to the parent company, this acquisition forms part of its broader investment plan, aiming to double its fleet and accelerate growth in technological innovation, energy transition, and next-generation maritime services and navigation models.

In 2025, LD Armateurs ordered two service operation vessels (SOVs), designed by Salt Ship Design, at ZPMC (Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company Limited), which started building the first SOV at the beginning of this year.
