French maritime services player Bourbon has strengthened its fleet with 13 new offshore support vessels since the start of 2026, representing a value of over $180 million, with 10 of them already under contract.
Bourbon has acquired six diesel-electric vessels from the Minsheng Group, five platform supply vessels (PSVs) and one 80-ton bollard pull anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS), as well as two large-capacity PSVs from ICBC, Bourbon Front and Bourbon Clear, in addition to the X-Bow vessel of the same series acquired in September 2025, named Bourbon Calm.
Furthermore, the company reactivated two 80-ton diesel-electric AHTS vessels, with two of its 27-meter crew boats, delivered at the end of 2025 in Congo, starting a five-year contract in February.
“In just a few months, we have expanded our fleet, secured significant investments, and quickly returned vessels to service for our customers. This momentum toward profitability and growth is the result of the transformation we began in early 2025 and the dedication of our teams,” said Gaël Bodénès, Bourbon’s Chief Executive Officer.
In February, Bourbon also took delivery of the latest newbuild vessel in the Evolution 800 series, designed for deepwater subsea operations and inspection, maintenance & repair (IMR) activities. Bourbon Evolution 810 also has diesel-electric propulsion, is fitted with two active heave-compensated cranes, including a main crane with a 150-ton capacity, and two 200 HP ROVs and can accommodate 105 persons.
The vessel was delivered in Singapore and will start a long-term contract in South Asia in the second quarter.
“Following the restructuring & closing operations finalized in 2025, and supported by operational improvements, BOURBON’s financial health is restored with a cleansed Balance Sheet & reduced financial debt leverage below 1.5 xEBITDA2025 after these significant investments. We continue today to look for opportunities to sustain long-term growth,” said François Sordet, Chief Financial Officer of Bourbon.
