Norden expands owned fleet with handysize quartet

Danish owner and operator Norden has expanded its fleet by acquiring four handysize bulkers.

The four acquired vessels were built in 2024 and are scheduled for delivery during the second quarter of 2026. Financial details or the seller were not disclosed.

The company claims that the open-hatch and box-hold capabilities make them well-suited for specialised cargoes.

The addition builds on Norden’s operated fleet of around 450 vessels and supports the company’s strategy of “selectively strengthening its fleet in segments with strong customer demand and attractive long-term fundamentals”.

Norden added that the handysize segment has an ageing global fleet and a limited orderbook, which enhances the demand for modern, fuel-efficient vessels.
