Port Hedland Iron Ore Exports Marginally Lower in April

Pilbara Ports delivered a total monthly throughput of 65.9 million tonnes (Mt) during April 2026.

This was a two per cent increase compared to April 2025.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 47Mt, of which 46.3Mt was iron ore exports. This was a decrease of one per cent compared to April 2025.

Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 217,000 tonnes, an increase of 1 per cent compared to April 2025.

The Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 15.2Mt, a three per cent increase from April 2025.

Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 119,000 tonnes, a 41 per cent increase from April 2025.

Several factors influence the fluctuation of throughput, including changes in market conditions, weather conditions, port maintenance operations and customer needs.
