Norden expands fleet with handysize quartet purchase | Dry bulk shipping news

Denmark’s Norden, a shipping company known for its ocean-based freight services for bulk and project cargo of all sizes, has expanded its fleet by acquiring four dry cargo handysize vessels.

The four acquired vessels were built in 2024 and are scheduled for delivery during the second quarter of 2026.

The company claims the open-hatch and box hold capabilities make them well suited for specialised cargoes.

The addition builds on Norden’s operated fleet of around 450 vessels and supports, as Norden said, the company’s strategy of selectively strengthening its fleet in segments with strong customer demand and attractive long-term fundamentals.

Norden added that the handysize segment benefits from an ageing global fleet and a limited orderbook, reinforcing demand for modern, fuel-efficient vessels.
