Greek shipping magnate George Economou has returned to the sale and purchase market, cashing in on the firming cape sector, selling the 2006-built, Shanghai Waigaoqiao-built Venture I, with the ship now renamed Cape Shanghai and registered with Talent Shipping. No price has been attached to the deal. 

Economou has been offloading a handful of vintage capes in the last couple of years. The sale comes as values for vintage capes have moved up sharply. 

Economou has been active in the wet sector this year, with TMS Cardiff Gas returning to South Korea for several LNG carriers, while his group also started the year ordering suezmaxes in China.
