Azerbaijan’s January-June oil exports via BTC pipeline down 4.1% y/y

Oil exports via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which runs from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey, declined 4.1% year-on-year in the first half of the year to 13.9 million metric tons, Azerbaijan’s state statistics committee said on Friday.

The BTC pipeline, a major exporting route for Azerbaijan’s oil, delivers oil from the Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli oilfields, which are operated by BP.

Azerbaijan’s total oil deliveries via pipelines in the starting half of the year amounted to 18.5 million tons, of which 75.2% flowed through the BTC.

The volume of transit oil sourced from other countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan via the BTC fell to 2.337 million tons in January to June from 2.694 million tons in the same period of 2024, the data showed.
