Island Oil buys bunkering vessel, announces arrival in Cyprus | Bunker news

Limassol-headquartered Island Oil Holdings last week announced the acquisition of its newly purchased bunkering vessel, Ruby, which has now officially joined the company’s fleet in Cyprus.

The Ruby arrived in Cyprus and will provide support for the firm’s bunkering operations, a strategic move to enhance Island Oil’s supply capabilities and flexibility in serving the company’s clients’ marine fuel needs, according to the company’s announcement.

Notably, Ruby is a vessel specialised in bunkering operations and is the sister vessel to Island Oil’s Astraia.

The company held a blessing ceremony onboard Ruby last week, in keeping with maritime tradition.

Together with members of her crew and colleagues from the company’s team, Island Oil wished her fair winds, safe voyages, and calm seas as she begins this new chapter under the ownership.

As part of her arrival in Cyprus, Ruby passed right in front of the company’s seafront offices, which Island Oil described in a social media post as “a special moment for our team”.

Headquartered in Limassol, Island Oil Ltd is the flagship of Island Oil (Holdings), a group of companies mainly active in the marine and domestic fuels sector. The group has physical supply stations in Cyprus, Romania, and Israel, along with trading desks in Piraeus, Singapore, London, Hong Kong, Seoul and Dubai.
