Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 1% this week 31-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued slowly their decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 1% to $2,499 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam remain unchanged at $3,290, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also remain stable at $496 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam remain stable at $876 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York decreased 1% or $32 to $2,006 per FEU.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa remain stable at $3,362, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 2% or $43 to $2,632. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York also slid 2% or $75 to $4,135 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain unchanged at $714 per FEU.
