Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 1% this week 41-2025 | Container news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their weekly decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 1% to $1,651 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 2% or $36 to $1,577, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also decreased by 2% or $10 to $449 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 1% or $4 to $1,793, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 1% or $20 to $2,176. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York remain unchanged at $3,189 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai increased by 1% or $4 to $716 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 2% or $37 to $1,759 per FEU. Furthermore, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week decreased by 2% or $17 to $830 per 40-foot container.
