Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 2.6% this week 29-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued again their decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 2.6% to $2,602 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased 1% or $50 to $3,334, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased 2% or $8 to $495 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam increased 1% or $10 to $876 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York increased 1% or $11 to $2,001 per FEU.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 1% or $41 to $3,450, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 4% or $114 to $2,817. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York are down 6% or $300 to $4,539 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain stable at $720 per FEU.
