Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 2% this week 48-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week turned around with a decreasing tendency again. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 2% to $1,806 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 1% or $28 to $2,165, and Rotterdam to Shanghai decreased by 2% or $9 to $451 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 1% or $19 to $2,300, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 4% or $83 to $2,089. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York decreased by 6% or $187 to $2,735 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained stable at $720 and Rotterdam to New York increased by 1% or $9 to $1,664 per FEU. Meanwhile, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $22 to $925 per 40-foot container.
