Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 4% this week 34-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their weekly decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 4% to $ $2,250 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 6% or $203 to $2,373, and Rotterdam to Shanghai increased by 1% or $3 to $477 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 3% or $106 to $2,978, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 3% or $82 to $2,412. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York also slid 5% or $175 to $3,463 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain unchanged at $713. Likewise, New York to Rotterdam and Rotterdam to New York also remain unchanged at $839 and at $1,951 per FEU, respectively.
