Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 5.7% this week 27-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued again their decreasing tendency.

As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 5.7% to $2,812 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased 8% or $264 to $3,468, and Rotterdam to Shanghai decreased by 5% or $28 to $487 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam increased 5% or $41 to $867 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York increased 7% or $137 to $2,119 per FEU.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 9% or $349 to $3,751, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 15% or $561 to $3,180, and Shanghai to New York falls 11% or $633 to $5,070  per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain stable at $714 per FEU.
