Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 5% this week 40-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their further weekly decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 5% to $1,669 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 7% or $122 to $1,613, and Rotterdam to Shanghai remained unchanged at $459 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 9% or $186 to $1,804, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 5% or $115 to $2,196. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York slid 2% or $78 to $3,200 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai decreased by 1% or $4 to $712 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 1% or $23 to $1,796 per FEU. The freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 1% or $5 to $847 per 40-foot container.
