Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 5% this week 46-2025 | Uncategorized

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week turned around with a decreasing tendency again. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index increased by 5% to $1,859 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 3% or $66 to $2,028, and Rotterdam to Shanghai remained stable at $461 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 4% or $82 to $2,193, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 12% or $319 to $2,328. As it is also reported, those on Shanghai to New York decreased by 15% or $583 to $3,254 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remained stable at $716 and Rotterdam to New York decreased by 2% or $31 to $1,633 per FEU. Meanwhile, the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 2% or $19 to $884 per 40-foot container.
