Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 6% this week 35-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their further weekly decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 6% to $2,119 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 10% or $312 to $2,661, and Rotterdam to Shanghai decreased by 2% or $10 to $467 per 40-foot container.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 5% or $136 to $2,842, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 3% or $80 to $2,332. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York also slid 5% or $172 to $3,291 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai Rotterdam to New York remain unchanged at $714 and $1,956 per FEU respectively, with the freight from New York to Rotterdam this week increased by 1% or $6 to $845 per 40-foot container.
