Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 9% this week 26-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 9% to $2,983 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased 1% or $33 to $3,204, and Rotterdam to Shanghai remained unchanged at $515 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam falls 1% or $7 to $826 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York remain stable at $1,982 per FEU.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa increased by 1% or $25 to $4,100, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 20% or $961 to $3,741, and Shanghai to New York falls 13% or $881 to $5,703 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain stable at $717 per FEU.
