New feeder entrant Greta Shipping is launching three dedicated services connecting the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. The company, a Singapore-registered subsidiary wholly owned by Chinese conglomerate Xiamen C&D, will officially launch its operations in mid-August, according to Alphaliner.

Greta Shipping’s JKX service will link the Middle East transhipment hub of Jebel Ali with Karachi, Pakistan’s premier port. The 2,444 TEU vessel Hui Fa, recently chartered by the company, will initiate the service with its maiden sailing scheduled for August 15 from Jebel Ali. Industry heavyweight Hapag-Lloyd is confirmed to co-load on this route.

In addition to JKX, Greta Shipping will enter the UAE–Western India corridor with two more services—JIX1 and JIX2—both leveraging slot agreements with Hapag-Lloyd.

The JIX1 service, effective August 11, will operate on the Jebel Ali – Nhava Sheva – Jebel Ali leg of Hapag-Lloyd’s existing IG1 (Gulf-Pakistan-India) loop.

The JIX2, launching August 13, will see Greta Shipping taking slots on Hapag-Lloyd’s KWF service, which is being extended to include Kandla on India’s western coast.
