The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index, which tracks rates for vessels transporting dry commodities, snapped a two-day winning streak on Friday, falling about 0.6% to 2,083 points, pressured by the bigger-size segment.

The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, decreased by 1.9% to 3,181 points.

Meanwhile, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, went up 0.6% to 1,777 points; and the supramax index advanced 1.8% to 1,186 points.
