Baltic Dry Index Up for 13th Day

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk freight index, which monitors rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, was up for a 13th successive session on Tuesday, rising 0.3% to a fresh high since early December 2025 at 2,640 points.

The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes including iron ore and coal, held steady at a more than four-month high of 4,300 points; and the supramax index rose 1.5% to 1,443 points.

Meanwhile, the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell about 0.2% to 1,973 points.
