Diana locks in higher rate in new Paralos kamsarmax deal

Diana Shipping has secured follow-on employment for one of its kamsarmax bulkers, fixing the Maia on a direct continuation time charter with Paralos Shipping.

The New York-listed Greek owner said the vessel will earn $14,000 per day, less a 5% commission, under a contract running from a minimum of July 5, 2027 to a latest redelivery of September 5, 2027. The new charter is set to start on January 13, 2026.

The vessel is currently trading on a time charter at $11,600 per day, also less a 5% commission, meaning the extension locks in a higher rate for the next employment period.

Diana Shipping said the minimum term of the new deal is expected to generate about $7.45m in gross revenue.

The 2009-built, 82,193 dwt unit is one of six kamsarmax vessels in Diana Shipping’s 36-ship fleet.
