Diana Shipping fixes capesize and ultramax at higher rates

Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has entered into time charter contracts for two of its dry bulk vessels with Refined Success and Oldendorff.

Refined Success hired the 2010-built, 177,773 dwt capesize New York. The gross charter rate is $27,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of at least February 1, 2028, up to a maximum of March 31, 2028. The charter is expected to commence on May 1, 2026.

The vessel is currently chartered at a gross charter rate of $17,600 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

Oldendorff hired the 2018-built DSI Pyxis ultramax. The gross charter rate is $16,000 per day, minus 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period from a minimum of June 15, 2027, up to a maximum of August 15, 2027. The charter is expected to commence on May 3, 2026.

The 60,362 dwt vessel is currently chartered at a gross charter rate of $13,100 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

The employment of the New York and DSI Pyxis is anticipated to generate approximately $23.76m in gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
