Diana Shipping scores second fixture of the year with Bunge deal

Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has secured a new charter deal for its ultramax bulker DSI Altair, fixing the vessel to commodities group Bunge.

The New York-listed company said the contract was agreed at $14,750 per day, less a 5% commission, for a period running from a minimum of January 15, 2027, to a latest redelivery of March 30, 2027. The charter is expected to start on January 17, 2026.

The 2016-built, 60,309 dwt vessel had previously been employed by Propel Shipping at a higher daily rate of $15,750. Diana said the new employment is expected to generate about $5.3m in gross revenue for the minimum duration of the charter.

The fixture marks Diana’s second reported deal of the year. Earlier this month, the owner announced a follow-on time charter for its kamsarmax Maia, fixing the vessel on a direct continuation with Paralos Shipping.
