Drewry: The World Container Index decreased 3% this week 33-2025 | Freight news

In accordance with the assessment of Drewry Supply Chain Advisors, the container rates this week continued their further decreasing tendency. As it is mentioned, their composite World Container Index decreased by 3% to $2,350 per 40-foot container.

Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased by 3% or $100 to $3,176, and Rotterdam to Shanghai also decreased by 3% or $15 to $474 per 40-foot container.

Also, the rates from New York to Rotterdam decreased by 1% or $10 to $843 per FEU, but opposite way Rotterdam to New York decreased by 3% or $51 to $1,945 per FEU.

The rates from Shanghai to Genoa decreased by 4% or $143 to $3,084, while Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased by 2% or $40 to $2,494. As it is reported, those on Shanghai to New York also slid 5% or $188 to $3,638 per 40-foot container.

Finally, the rates from Los Angeles to Shanghai remain unchanged at $711 per FEU.
