Greek Samios Shipping buys handysize bulk carrier | Hellenic shipping news

Greek shipowner Samios Shipping Company SA announced the acquisition of a handysize bulk carrier Agia Pisti, which in Greek it means “Holy Faith.”

The 35,300-dwt vessel will be delivered to its new owner Samios Shipping, which traces its origins back to 1973.

“With a deadweight of approximately 35,300 dwt and built at Nantong Jinghua Shipbuilding, the vessel represents a high-quality addition to our dry bulk fleet and aligns with our strategy of disciplined growth and investment in efficient tonnage,” the company said in a social media post.

The company’s core activity has traditionally been the operation of dry bulk carriers and general cargo ships.

According to data from the company’s website, the fleet portfolio of Samios Shipping consists of the dry bulk carriers Agios Nikolaos (35,197.6-dwt, 2010-built), Agia Dynami (35,200.6-dwt, 2010-built), Agia Ypomoni (75,505.8-dwt, 2012-built), and the general cargo vessels Agia Doxa (33.334,90-dwt, 2010-built) and Agios Fanourios (33261-dwt, 2009-built).
