Norden flips leased panamax in latest S&P move

Danish shipowner and operator Norden has confirmed the disposal of a panamax bulker, extending a busy run in the sale-and-purchase market this year.

The Copenhagen-listed company said it exercised a purchase option on the leased vessel and subsequently sold it on. Norden did not disclose details of the ship or the buyer.

The move is in line with its ongoing strategy of converting leased tonnage into owned assets before reselling them at a profit.

It comes during an active period for the Jan Rindbo-led outfit, which has offloaded more than 20 vessels in 2025, including over 10 ships through declared purchase options.

Norden has also been active on the leasing side, balancing disposals with around 20 new additions that come attached with purchase options.
